KEITH ALVIN STOREY October 30, 1941 - April 26, 2011 Peacefully, after a lengthy battle with cancer, on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, Keith Storey passed away at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 69. He is survived by his children Kerrith and Lindsay (Doug Iliffe); grandchildren Laurren and Austin, and several aunts, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his mother and father, Gretta and Alvin Storey, and his wife Judy Storey. Keith was born and grew up in Flin Flon, Manitoba. He spent his childhood playing outdoors with friends and cousins, climbing the rocks, downhill skiing, canoeing and fishing. After high school he left small town Manitoba and headed to Toronto where he attended Ryerson Institute and obtained a degree in Business Administration. Within a year the mountains were calling and Keith arranged a transfer with Eaton's (which they did not normally do) to Calgary. Skiing was and continued to be a highlight in his life. He took his final trip out to the mountains a few years back with his good friend Bob Langdon and he was skiing locally just this past January. For almost 20 years volunteering and being a part of the ski patrol was a significant part of Keith's life. He enjoyed his role as an instructor and the friendships he developed were lifelong. He spent most of his early years patrolling at Frost Fire in North Dakota and later he spent a great deal of time at the ditch' (Springhill). Keith's other great passion was classic cars. He owned a 1972 Mercedes 450 SL and a 1973 E-Type Jaguar. Keith loved to drive his cars and talk about cars. He and his late wife, Judy were part of a car club where they had the opportunity to participate in car events and develop friendships with other car enthusiasts. Saturday morning breakfast with the car club was a constant in their life. In 1969, Keith married Judy and their life together began, first in Montreal, then Toronto and eventually back in Winnipeg where they had their family and spent the remainder of their lives. In Winnipeg, Keith started with Coghlan's in the 1970s. Keith had many opportunities working with Coghlan's, including traveling all over the world and meeting some wonderful people. Keith was very devoted to his work and his family. During his children's childhood, Keith always chose to go home for lunch allowing his family to sit down to three meals a day together. Keith always made his wife and children a priority. Later in life Keith's focus became his grandchildren. Keith and Judy shared many passions, including fine dining, theatre and travel. Planning and reminiscing about trips brought them so much pleasure. We bid Judy farewell on December 26, 2007 and it is now time to bid our farewell to Keith. We trust that this journey will be one of peace and reconnection. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba and the Riverview Health Centre. Funeral Service 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2011 at Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Road. Funeral Home and Crematorium 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca

I grew up with Keith and went to school with him at good old Hapnot High. This obituary was sent to me from my Sister Betty in The Pas. I want to send my utmost sympathy to Keith's family, reading his obit., it sounds like he had a very interesting and full life, and remembering him from our young years, it sounds like he made many friends, which is how I remember him as a young teen. May He rest in peace, as he continues on his next journey. God Bless---------------donna Johnson(Zimmerman) - Posted by: Donna Johnson (Family) on: May 03, 2011
