Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLAIRE TANGUAY VAUGEOIS 1924 - May 1, 2011 Peacefully on May 1, 2011 at Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, our beloved courageous mother passed away following a stroke. Claire leaves behind her six children, nieces and nephews and many grandchildren. The family would like to thank Lindenwood Manor staff and residents for their care and hospitality in the last eight years. Claire relocated from Montreal to Winnipeg at the age of 79. She loved both Montreal and the Prairies. Claire had a joyful life and travelled a lot. She had many friends with whom she kept avid correspondence. At the age of 86, Claire still rode a stationary bicycle every morning for 40 minutes. She keenly completed the daily crosswords and would not rest until the last difficult word was found. Claire remained active on many committees until recently. Her love of French books never ceased. The Winnipeg Library would bring her a new selection every month. Claire was out spoken with a witty sense of humour. Like all our family, Claire had a captivating love of animals and would often ask to visit the Winnipeg Humane Society. At times, she would sneak a little five pound dog into her senior residence. Claire provided history for the next two generations. Thank you Claire for all that we shared. As per Claire's wishes, there will be no funeral ceremony.
