PETER NIELS LARSEN Peter left us suddenly, May 2, 2011, at the Victoria Hospital with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife, Elsie of 76 years, his daughters, Joan Saraillon (Winnipeg), Mary (Ivan) Jensen (Port Coquitlam, BC) and Dianne (Bruce) Freeman (Lockport), eight grand-children and 10 great-grandchildren. Peter was born in Skagan, Denmark on February 23, 1910. He immigrated to Canada in 1927. He worked as a farmer for many years, and finally settled in Winnipeg. He married Elsie, March 2, 1935. He and his brother Sam started Elite Transfer. He was a hard working man, who loved his family, the summer, gardening (especially his tomatoes) sitting in the sun, good food, a good drink, a good cigar, and a good laugh. He had a hard life, but a good life. He lived long enough to not only be a Dad, but a friend. He was so amazing that we all forgot he was really 101 years old, but his heart knew and so we lost him. We are all going to miss him. Thanks to his granddaughters, Donna and Carol, who stayed with him on his last night. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Sherwood Park Lutheran Church, 7 Tudor Crescent, Winnipeg R2K 2A5. Dad's funeral will be Sherwood Park Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
