ABRAM (ABE) G. KROEKER Abram (Abe) G. Kroeker, 85, of Winnipeg, formerly of Lowe Farm, died peacefully with his family by his side, May 15, 2011 at the Victoria Hospital. He is survived by his wife Irene (nee Fast), children Ella Kroeker, Ken and Marlene Kroeker, Geraldine and Don Brown, former son-in-law Jerry Tom, and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers, three sisters, many in-laws, and their families. He was predeceased by his grandson Ryan. Abe was born in Lowe Farm on October 19, 1925, where he received his education. He married Irene Fast in 1953 and together they established a family farm in Lowe Farm, where they remained for 30 years. They then moved to Winnipeg where he used his skills as a handyman and jack of all trades in many paid and volunteer settings. The funeral will be held at Bethel Mennonite Church, 465 Stafford, Winnipeg on Friday, May 20 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a burial in Lowe Farm Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and in keeping with Abe's strong support of those who require hospitality in word and deed, donations can be made to the Mennonite Central Committee.
