GORDON BJARNI SIGURDSON January 14, 1938 - June 12, 2011 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gordon Bjarni Sigurdson. Born January 14, 1938, in Riverton, Manitoba, son of S.V and Kristrun Sigurdson. Brothers, Victor, Stefan and Ralph; sisters, Val, Helga, Gladys and Lois. Gordon passed on June 12, 2011, at home with his loving wife Alta Sigurdson (Spear) of Roblin, MB. Father to son Creig, wife Christina and proud Afi (Grandfather) to Sarah, Noah and sweet Arron James. Also father to Avril and proud Afi to Alex and Adrian Meijn. Gordy also leaves behind many wonderful nephews and nieces. Thank you Clyde. Gordy was very proud of his work with Monarch Construction, building the Red River floodway. He then moved on to get his degree in accounting and started a business. But that wasn't all, so he got his broker license and had Sigurdson Realty for many years. Gordy retired in 1989 due to poor health. Gordy, husband, dad, Afi, uncle, friend, son, brother, those are too few words to describe Gordy, but the best word is loved. May your path be lit with the light of our love. We miss you and will meet again. Celebration of Gordon's life will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011, in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue West at 2:00 p.m. Special thanks to wife and mother Alta. For without your care we couldn't have kept him so long. We love you Mom. And also Dr. Darcy Johnson and staff for caring for Gordy with such kindness and love. And a big shout out to 3rd floor care givers at Concordia Hospital. Your motto is truly pride and dignity. Thank you to Wheeler Funeral Chapel, you made rough a little smoother.
