JEFFREY NEIL MCDERMOT June 17, 1957 - June 26, 2011 On Sunday evening, June 26, 2011, my dear son Jeff quietly passed away at Riverview Health Centre after a lengthy illness. Jeff was predeceased by his mother eight years ago. June you now have your son back in your loving arms. Jeff will be dearly missed by his sister Laurel and her husband Bruce Mollison, their children Scott and Leigh. His passing will also be sadly felt by his aunts and uncles, Rhoda, Perry, Shirley and Alf Wuerch, Dawn and Len Schibler, Florence McDermot, and many cousins. Jeff was born and raised in Fort Garry and attended Ralph Maybank School as a youngster, and then on to Vincent Massey Collegiate. Jeff was surely blessed with many friends who stood by him throughout his lifetime. My heartfelt thanks to all of you. Your kindness made a huge difference. Jeff was a gentle soul with a very strong spirit that enabled him to carry on and face adversity squarely in the eye. He had a soft spot in his heart for all who needed a kind heart and a listening ear. He will be remembered for his kindness to all creatures great and small. Jeff's family would like to thank the Palliative Team on 3East and the staff on D3 for the compassionate care Jeff received during his stay at Riverview. May you find a safe harbour as your guardian angel accompanies you home, Jeff. Love you, Jeff. - Dad Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeff's memory to a charity of your choice.
