ROGER GILLES PATRICK ROBERT August 6, 1971 - July 9, 2011 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Roger Gilles Patrick Robert on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Victoria General Hospital, at the age of 39 years. Roger will be deeply missed by his beloved fiancée and soul-mate, Marlene Manness, who he was to wed on July 16, 2011, by his family, relatives, and many friends. He is survived by his brother Chuck (Debi) and sister Renée (Madeleine). He was loved and cherished by his nieces and nephews Ashley, André, Avery and Austin, by Marlene's children Kyle (Temple) and Melissa, and by his many relatives and friends. Roger was predeceased by his parents, Gilles in 2005 and Hilda in 2008. Roger was born in St-Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba, and lived his entire life in St. Malo. He attended the University of Manitoba where he obtained both a diploma and degree in agriculture. He worked with the Province of Manitoba as a farm production and crops advisor. He loved farming and farm life, and took joy in collecting antique farm equipment. Roger was generous with his love and his time. He loved and cherished his lovely Marlene and was working hard to plan the perfect wedding for his bride. He was devoted to his family, took care of his parents in their remaining years, and always looked forward to Sunday dinners with the family. He was active in the community as captain of St. Pierre volunteer department, president of the St. Pierre Ag Society, and vice president of Windfarm Energy. He enjoyed fishing and sledding with the guys. Roger had an extremely positive outlook on life, faced challenges head on, and made everyone smile. He was a good man, a good son and brother, and a good friend. His life was his legacy, and he was a gift to us all. A celebration of his life will be held at Blessed Margaret Catholic Church in St. Malo, MB on Friday, July 15. Prayers are at 10:30 a.m., Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220.
