FLORENCE DOROTHY GUNNLAUGSON (nee SAUNDERS) May 12, 1934 July 13, 2011 Time on earth ended on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 for our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Florence. Now she is dwelling in His heavenly home free from pain and the illness which she endured this past year. Remaining to forever cherish Florence's memory are her two sons, Brian (Hazel), Gord (Jan); grandchildren Breanne, Brenden, Scott and Tyler; great-grandson Haidyn; sister and best friend Audrey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Port Arthur, Ontario Florence moved to Winnipeg where she worked alongside her husband Matt in the family business. Mom loved flowers, music, dogs, owls, loons, books, sunrises, sunsets, a calm lake, the roar of the ocean and of course, the color blue. She was blessed and surrounded by an incredible network of friends and church family who were all very dear to her. Florence lived by the mantra; Live, Love and Laugh with Faith, Family and Friends. In compliance with Florence's wishes, there will be no formal Funeral Service. Special thanks to the staff at the Palliative Care Unit at Riverview Health Centre 3E; dearest thanks to her home Palliative nurse, Louise; and to all her friends and family who helped support her through this tough journey. Bless all of you for your dedication and the comfort given to her. In lieu of flowers or donations, Mom's simple wish was that everyone engage in acts of kindness towards others.
