BRYCE LEONARD PIUKKALA Warrant Officer, 2 PPCLI Passed suddenly at the age of 31 in Manitoba on Monday, July 25, 2011, as the result of a traffic collision. Loving son of Linda and Rod Piukkala of Oakville. Proud father of Tyler and Ryan. Brother of Jeff (Melinda). Uncle of Ella and Claire. Survived by his grandparents, Kay and Jean Roy of Bellwood, and Leonard and Grace Kuenzig of Georgetown. Fondly remembered by Jill Piukkala of Winnipeg and missed by Amber Dodds of Shilo. Predeceased by his uncle Dwayne. He will be sadly missed but forever remembered by many close friends, extended family and colleagues across Canada. Bryce was a decorated 13 year veteran of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry based in Shilo, Manitoba, fulfilling his dream of joining the military after school. He served three tours overseas, two in Bosnia and one in Afghanistan. Outside of his profession he enjoyed many outdoor activities and sports. Bryce has returned home to his family in Ontario. Friends will be received for visitation at the Glen Oaks Chapel and Reception Centre, 3164 Ninth Line, (Dundas/403) Oakville 905-257-8822 on Sunday, July 31, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011, in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at Glen Oaks.
