EMMA (CHIMTERMANIE) SEWGOOLAM Emma (Chimtermanie) Sewgoolam, 61, peacefully passed away on August 20, 2011, with her family by her side at the CCU Unit of the Health Sciences Centre. She was born on October 13, 1949, in Cedros, Trinidad Tobago to Mr. and Mrs. KuarSingh. She attended Fort Richmond Collegiate Institute in Winnipeg, MB. She continued her education at Red River Community College graduating in 1974 with a Nursing diploma. It was here that she met and married her husband, Jagdeo Sewgoolam. She was an active member of the Hindu Society of Manitoba. Her interests included gardening, reading and listening to country music. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jagdeo; son, Krisendat and daughter, Anita; son-in-law, Ryan daughter-in-law, Sue; sisters, Kacie (deceased) and Nicey; brothers, Sonnylal (deceased), Chandi, Joe, Hollis, Mandata, Dan and their spouses; and granddaughter, Ella. A memorial service will be held at Thomson in the Park, 1291 McGillivary Blvd. at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation.
