REGINA KADA (KAY) KILCUP (nee SKUZANSKI) March 1, 1919 - August 28, 2011 Sadly, we announce the sudden passing of Regina Kilcup in her 93rd year. Predeceased by parents Frank and Tekla Skuzanski, husband Percy in 1996, brothers Charles Skuzanski (Stirling), Tony Skuzanski, and sister Helen Rose (Bohannon). Kay will be lovingly remembered by her children, Janet Ridgedale (Jeff), Gordon (Gerri), Raymond, and grandchildren Lindsey, Kyle and Marshall. She is also survived by brother Stan Skuzanski (Irene), sister-in-law Zanie Stirling, and numerous nieces and nephews. Kay was born in Lorette, MB and lived her youth in Winnipeg's north end. She was an active member of C.P.A.C., playing many team sports. She married Percy in 1951, at Holy Trinity Church, and celebrated 45 years of marriage. Together they were active in the Legion #90 for many years. Mom belonged to a bowling league, where she played and was secretary for many years. She loved playing the piano, travelling, and bingo. Many occasions were enjoyed with family and friends at the cottage at Bird Lake which she and Percy built together in the early 1960s. Her self-prescribed medication to longevity was enjoying a daily dose of Navy Rum. In keeping with mom's wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family service to follow. Father in Heaven hear our prayer Guard our Mother with tender care. Be a good Shepherd, don't leave her alone. Love her as we loved her When she was here at home.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Frank Skuzanski - Regina's father is my great Uncle. My Grandfather Marayn (Mike) Skuzanski of Winnipeg then Toronto was brother to Frank Skuzanski. Frank and Marayn were born in Budzanow. The town was located in the Austria-Hungarian Empire at the time of their birth. The borders changed to Poland and now the town is located in the Ukraine. I have been trying in vain to locate any of the Skuzanski family and today Janaury 25, 2012 your Mom's obituary popped up - a source of excitement to me although I am sorry for your loss. I would love for someone in the family to get in touch with me as I am now working via pictures and stories through the family geneology and I have lots of pictures. I even have one of Frank and Tekla with my grandfather with a baby on Frank's knee but do not know which sibling this may be. My grandfather came to Winnipeg to work with Frank on the farm. He then went back to Budzanow to find a wife and married Bronislawa Eugenie Sczozda whose father at the time was Mayor or a government official of the town. Please get in touch with me. My address below. 1995 Royal Road, Unit 205 Pickering, Ontario L1V 6V9 - Posted by: Vivian Stirling (Skuzanski) Brennan (Frank Skuzanski is my father Leo's Uncle ) on: Jan 25, 2012
