HAZEL LILLIAN FLORENTINE July 9, 1919 - May 30, 2011 Hazel passed away peacefully on May 30, 2011 in Richmond, BC surrounded by her family. Hazel was born on July 9, 1919 in Somerset, Manitoba. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Judith (Zenon), Gary (Roxanne) and Neil; her grandchildren Katie (Paul), Mark, Geoffrey, Derril, Michelle (John Paul): and great-grandchildren Reaney, Riley, Lucy and Adeleigh and sisters Mildred Towle and Elizabeth Scott. Hazel was predeceased by her parents George (Sandy) and Clara Scott, her dear husband Harry (October 2009), and brother-in-law Garnet Towle, all buried in Winnipeg. Hazel lived her life with determination, diligence, and resolve. She met Harry when he returned from Italy in 1945 having served overseas with the Canadian Army. They married and made their home in Winnipeg, raising their family and enjoying a happy and busy life. In 1981, they moved to British Columbia (Richmond, BC and later Abbotsford BC) Winters were spent in Yuma, Arizona and later in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Harry and Hazel embraced life, enjoyed their family and were able to travel well into their nineties. After Harry's death in 2009 Hazel moved to a retirement community in Richmond, BC where she remained active and involved. Interment took place on September 16, 2011 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Garden.
