CRISTINA GUFFEI It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Cristina Guffei on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 with her daughters at her side, at the age of 81. Cristina made the brave journey from her native Castelpetroso, Italy at the young age of 24 to marry our father Angelo Guffei. Winnipeg has been her home since. During those years, she took great pleasure in raising her family, loving unconditionally and always putting others needs before her own. Left to cherish Cristina's memory, are daughters, Dolores, Maria (Robert), Adriana; granddaughters, Katharine and Angela. She also leaves behind a brother Armando in Italy, many nephews and nieces. Besides her family, she will be missed by many friends. She is predeceased by her husband Angelo, father Michele, and mother Domenica. Thank you to all the family members and friends who extended their support during this difficult time. In particular, to Linda Panciera for loving and supporting our mother as if she were your own. Special Thanks to Dr. E. St. Godard and all the staff at Riverview Health Centre, for the compassionate care of our Mother (and us) in the final weeks of her life. More than once you went above and beyond. Also, to those who cared for her during the time leading up to her stay in Riverview; Palliative Care Team, Dr. C. Polimeni, Dr. D. Haiart and Dr. P. Czaykowski. Mom You lived your life with grace and acceptance through good times and bad. You taught us to live ours with strength and confidence and we will do our best to carry your values forward. We'll miss your warm smile and sense of humor. You will forever be in our hearts. Noi vi amiamo tanto. Riposare in pace. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 12 at 10:00 a.m. also in Holy Rosary Church.
