EDNA SCHENTAG February 11, 1920 - November 8, 2011 Peacefully on November 8, 2011, Edna, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the Northern Spirit Manor in Thompson at the age of 91 years. She is survived by daughters, Catherine and Deborah (Scott); grandchildren, Ryan and Ashley (Denis); great-granddaughter, Lanaya; brother, Tom Ellis; sister, Mabel Cormier; sisters-in-law, Leda Ellis, Minnie Schentag, Helen Schentag, Rose Schentag, and Frances Lario; as well as many nieces, nephews, and their families. She was pre-deceased by her siblings, Art, Bill, and Carrie; her husband, Jack, of 47 years; and great-grandson, Kaiden. Edna enjoyed playing bingo and had a particular fondness for animals, especially her feline friend, Johnny. But most important to her was her family, whom she loved unconditionally, and with great admiration each and every day. Cremation has taken place, and as per her wishes, a graveside service will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Langenburg, Saskatchewan, on November 17 at 11:30 a.m. Her family would like to extend a very special thank you to the doctors and staff at the Northern Spirit Manor for their care and compassion in making her last days as comfortable as possible.
