JOAO TAVARES MEDEIROS It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved Joao Tavares Medeiros. On Sunday, November 13, 2011, Joao Medeiros passed away at his home with his loving wife of 61 years, Natalia Da Camara Medeiros by his side. He leaves to mourn, children: Donaria, Lourdes, Joao, Maria dos Anjos, Jose (Maria), Mario (Isabel) and Luis; daughter-in-law Carol Piche, 34 grandchildren and 25 great-grand-children. He is also survived by his sister Maria Do Rego. He was predeceased by his daughter Olivia; sons-in-law, Domiciano Oliveira, Eduardo Coelho and Gil Moniz. Joao was born on February 28, 1926 in Sao Miguel, Acores, Portugal and arrived in Canada on August 13, 1986. Joao was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a simple man who enjoyed farming in Portugal. He was very dedicated to his family, working hard to ensure all their needs were met. He loved all family gatherings as it brought him joy spending time with those whom he loved. Prayers will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd. Entombment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, (Queen of Heaven Mausoleum).
