CAROLE ANNE SLATER (nee REX) February 10, 1951 November 17, 2011 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carole Slater on November 17, 2011, peacefully at the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital. Carole leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Ken; daughter, Jodi; and granddaughter, Brooklyn; brothers, Dick (Barb) Rex, Will (Sandra) Rex, Jim (Lou) Rex; sister, Susan Rex (Paul Dayman); as well as some very special nieces, nephews and cousins. Carole was predeceased by her parents, Dick and Terry; sister-in-law Maureen Rex; and niece Katlyn Rex. After a distinguished career as one of the earliest female Agricultural Representatives in Alberta, Carole and family moved to the Interlake in 1987. From there, they moved to the Inwood area in 1989. Carole worked at Farm Credit in Arborg and then in Stonewall for 15 years before retiring. When sitting still didn't suit her, she then went on to work with Farm Debt Mediation Services. Golfing and curling were her favorite pastimes and she made some very close friends throughout the years. If she wasn't golfing or curling you'd find her out in the field checking on her bees, or in her honey house extracting and pouring honey. Carole was a gifted stained glass artist and wood worker. Her biggest delight was her granddaughter, Brooklyn. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff for their care and support of both Carole and our family during this time. If friends wish, donations may be made in Carole's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. A service to celebrate Carole's life will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at the Inwood Memorial Hall. MACKENZIE FUNERAL CHAPEL STONEWALL (204) 467-2525 mackhome@mts.net
