Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND MAURICE GENDRON After a stoic struggle with cancer, Raymond Maurice Gendron passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on November 19, 2011, at the age of 75. Raymond is predeceased by his parents, Apollinaire and Marie-Anne Gendron (nee Pujo), and his younger brother Claude. He is also predeceased by his sister Lorette, and his brother René, in their infancy. Raymond leaves to mourn his sisters Clémence Gallet, Renée Allen, Lorraine Gatin, and Jeannine Douklias; brother Normand, sister-in-law Pauline (Claude); and many nephews, nieces, family and friends. Ray was born on May 15, 1936, at St. Boniface Hospital. He raised his little brother Normand after his father's death and took care of his mother, living true to the meaning of his name of wise and mighty protector. Raymond served in the Queen's Own Rifle in Alberta during the mid 1950s, as well as played drums in the army marching band. He would give rides to his sisters, when needed, and was always available to help at the drop of a hat. The family would like to thank the staff of the 8th floor Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 24, 2011, at Saint-Boniface Cathédral Parish, 190 ave de la Cathédrale.
