MENNO FEDRAU August 28, 1950 - December 5, 2011 It is with great sadness and fond remembrance that we announce the passing of Menno Fedrau, beloved husband, father and friend. Menno is survived by his wife, Judy, three children and their families, as well as several brothers and sisters. He will also be sadly missed by a wide circle of loving friends. Menno's bright humour and generous spirit gathered many people to him during the years he spent living in Thompson and Morden, MB. Menno was a leader and a doer among his friends, family and the community. He could always be found organizing fishing trips, hockey pools, or chairing committees such as his most recent contribution serving as the President of the Morden Friendship Centre. Menno was always lending a helping hand to others and never hesitated to respond when his friends needed him. Through his life, Menno pursued numerous careers, but he was most proud of his long and distinguished service as a firefighter at Thompson Fire and Ambulance. Menno's passion for life was evident by the joy he took in his work, his hobbies such as fishing, hunting and card playing, as well as in his interactions with family and friends. Over the course of his lengthy health struggles, Menno was a fighter; he never gave up and always accepted his circumstances with grace and humour. He often expressed his gratitude to the many excellent specialists, nurses, doctors and paramedics who provided such good care over the years. Respecting Menno's wishes, a formal memorial service will not be held. His family encourages others to remember him in their own way, reflecting on their personal memories of Menno. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Menno's name to the Arthritis Society of Manitoba at www.arthritis.ca or by mail at 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6.
