ROBERT (BOB) TUFTS September 4, 1934 January 13, 2012 With deepest sadness, we the children, Al, Diane and Barb, announce the peaceful passing of our dearest dad, on January 13, 2012 in Coaldale, AB at the age of 77 years. Dad was born in Taber, AB, son of Philemon Leroy Tufts and Helen Bennett (nee Parks). Our loving father leaves behind his son Al (Shari) Tufts of Calgary, grandsons Andrew and Iain; daughter Diane (Pat) Cannon of Winnipeg, granddaughter Alison; daughter Barb (Steve) Horvath of DeWinton, AB, granddaughter Valerie and grandson Randy; son-in-law Dave Love of Calgary, granddaughter Darciel; sisters Gery Moyor of Kelowna, BC, and Donna Ferguson (Frank) of Davie, Florida; brother-in-law Bruce (Mary) Enright of Winnipeg; and stepsister Louise (Todd) Frye of Springville, Utah. Predeceased by his father Philemon in 1941, mother Helen in 1997, stepfather Spence Bennett in 1989, daughter Wendy Love in 2002, and most recently by the love of his life, our mother Joan, his wife of 53 years, in August 2011. He will be missed by his many other family members and close friends. Dad raised a loving family of four children in Winnipeg, allowing our mom to stay at home as our caregiver, while he worked to provide for his family at the Manitoba Sugar Company until his retirement in 1993. Those who knew dad will know he was an avid Edmonton Eskimo fan and will be remembered for his love of games, puzzles, practical jokes, gardening, card playing and winters down in Texas. In compliance with Dad's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A private memorial gathering for both Mom and Dad will take place in Manitoba later this spring. Mom and Dad are soul mates. Dad was so lonely after losing Mom that we find comfort in knowing they are once again hand in hand playing Scrabble, Spite and Malice and enjoying happy hour. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. • I was very sad to hear that Bob passed away. My family and I shared many times together on Fairlane Ave and at our home on Addison Crescent in Winnipeg. We also enjoyed camping with them out at Whiteshell Park on the Winnipeg River.
