Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT ARMSTRONG HAMPTON February 23, 1930 - January 24, 2012 Peacefully on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at St. Boniface Hospital Robert passed away at the age of 81. He is survived by his daughters Karen and Cristal, his grandchildren Cole and Zachary and many family and friends near and dear to him. He was predeceased by his loving wife Yvette in 2002. Robert was born and raised in Winnipeg and started his sales career with Robin Hood and went onto Kimberly Clarke where he retired. Our dad was always known for the way he dressed, always in black and white, and for always keeping a clean and spotless car. Our dad's hobby was raising pigeons which he started when he was only six years old. He raced them for a time, but for the most part he had show homers where he won numerous awards for his exceptional birds. But our dad's real passion was his family. He married our mom in August 1956 and he was the happiest man ever. The love they felt for each other was like none we have ever seen and our dad was never the same after our mom passed away. But fortunately his grandsons Cole and Zachary kept grandpa occupied and brought him so much joy to his life. Dad loved playing war with them, feeding the geese and ducks, going for ice cream and just hanging out with them. He was so very proud of his grandsons and their accomplishments. My grandpa treated me like he was my dad, he would get me ice cream, he would do almost everything that I did, and he would tell me stories. My grandpa is the best person on planet earth. I loved him more than anybody I know, Zach. Dad also had a special place in his heart for our cousin Barb, he loved you so much and he always said he considered you to be like a daughter to him. He was always so touched by your gentleness and kindness towards him, thank you Barb for touching his life. We would like to extend special thanks to two very special men in our dad's life, who were always there to support us and also being wonderful friends to our dad. These men hold a special place in our hearts, Peter Pauls and Bill Sacher. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love you showed to us and our dad, I don't thing you will ever know how much you meant to our dad and how much he appreciated everything you did for him. We also want to extend special thanks to the Stacy-Bach family for always being there for us and our boys, never hesitating once in helping us out. We love you all very much and will never forget your kindness. Thanks to all of our family and friends for their kind words and support during this difficult time. Thank you to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital on Ward E6 for the exceptional care you showed to our dad, you won't be forgotten for your kindness and compassion shown to all of us. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. In keeping with dad's wishes cremation has taken place, no formal service will be held. Dad we know you are not suffering anymore and take comfort that you are with mom now. We will love and miss you always and know we will meet again.

My prayers are with all your family Karen and Cristal at this very difficult time. Your Dad and David worked together both at Robin Hood and Kimberly Clark making many road trips together with many stories to tell and always looking for that next sale. Bobby (as he was known to all of us) always talked of his family and he was so proud of all of you. He is at peace now and with your Mom. Love and Blessing to you all. - Posted by: Gail Reid (friend through work and my husband (David Reid)) on: Jan 29, 2012
