Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY MAY JONES March 23, 1932 - February 2, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Jones. She joins her husband Fred Jones and her grandson Kurt Neal with God. She is survived by her children Debbie Bessette (Denis), Cindy Neal (Dennis) and Kim MacBeth (Greg); grandchildren Bart Neal (Jaclyn), Natalie Bessette-Asumadu (Kingsley), Hayley Bessette, and Kelsey MacBeth (Louise); great-grandchild Charlotte Neal; great-grandchild to be Apple Seed Asumadu-Bessette; and chosen family Bonnie Morris (Al), Troy Morris (Robyn), Quinn Cameron, Candace Lapointe, and Brenden Lapointe. Dorothy is also survived by her sister Alva Bayne (Wally) and many other relatives. Dorothy was a loving and generous woman who will be fondly remembered by those whose lives she touched. Family and friends were always dear to her and she would welcome guests and strays into her home with homemade cookies, a pot of tea, and lots of laughter. She spent 60 good years with the love of her life Fred, who meant the world to her. Their lives were greatly entwined with Fred's fellow firefighters and their families serving as her extended family. Dorothy put her whole heart into everything whether she was baking a pie, sewing a dress, or taking care of a friend, she always gave it her all. A special thanks to the care givers at Concordia Place, you are appreciated. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Immanual United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A service will be held at Immanual United Church, 755 Golspie St., at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2012.

I was introduced to "Nana" by her daughter Kim when I first moved to East St. Paul. I was welcomed by their family and had so very many laughs with Dorothy. I enjoyed her warm, generous spirit and her wonderful sense of humour (even if I was the target). My deepest condolences to Kim, Cindy and Debbie and their families. - Posted by: Norine Harty (Friend) on: Feb 07, 2012

We were so saddened to hear of Dorothy's passing. We have many fond memories of Fred and Dorothy as we got to know them...Many nights of playing Skip Bo, lots of laughter....Dorothy was truly an honest and loving lady, and will be missed by all whose lives she touched. We are still in Texas so will be unable to attend her funeral...With deepest sympathy to all the family.....Shirley and Todd Sawchuk - Posted by: Shirley and Todd Sawchuk (Friends from Magic Valley Park) on: Feb 06, 2012

Debbie, Kim and Cindy (and families), I am sorry to hear about Dorothy's passing. We currently are in Jamaica not returning until Feb 15th. I want to give you a big hug and let you know both Dorothy and Fred will always have a special place in my heart. Your tribute is exact. Always willing to help the stray (like me). I will be thinking of the many Dorothy memories I had the pleasure of experiencing. God Bless Nori & Bob. See you soon - Posted by: Nori Rubert (Friend) on: Feb 04, 2012

Dorothy and I became sisters in faith in the late '70's. We remained good friends and "sisters" since that time. We shared our love and understanding of family and friendship. Each visit we had we shared our love and respect for one another and our faith. Muriel, Dorothy and I were good friends, as well on a different level. She liked to tease me, especially when I mistakenly ate the dainties Muriel was saving for her. I was able to re-establish our valued friendship with cinnamon buns and turtles.
