My father and Garry were best friends growing up in Winnipeg --and both families moved to Delta BC within months....he met me with my mom at the airport as I returned from Mexico to break the news my dad had died---he was more of an uncle than any of my real ones (as was Lorraine and Marty and Shannon in their roles)-- our families traded whose house we'd eat Christmas dinnner at for decades----my brother and I had a real love for and trust of Garry---and will forever be regretful we never got around to having those beers "one day" with him to discuss stories about our dad that only Garry could relate to us.....he really was one of those truly good guys that just didn't have a bad bone in him----I hadn't talked to him in years--but I am feeling a loss right now that is as heavy as if it was my father's passing all over again----someday I hope my brother and I get to have that beer and talk we kept putting off Garry--not too soon I hope---but you'll be right after we have a chat with dad, cuz I know you'll be right beside him when we do get there....... - Posted by: philip lamont (my father;'s best friend, having a beer together now--looking at a car....probqably a Meteor-late 60) on: Mar 13, 2012
