Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADAM GOSZER August 15, 1921 - February 3, 2012 It is with sadness and gratitude for a long and full life that we announce the passing of Adam Goszer at the Simkin Centre. Left with wonderful memories are his wife, Barbara, children Sharon (Steven Tritt) and Elliott, grandchildren Samuel, Joseph, Nicholas, and Sarah, and his nieces Hilda (Len), Debbie (Jack) and their families. Adam was born in Korzec, Poland. He immigrated to Winnipeg in 1949. Shortly after, he met Barbara who was the love of his life. They were married in 1952 and built a new and meaningful life together. A professional photographer, he eventually opened his own store Adam's Camera Shop- which graced the corner of Portage and Main for almost 30 years. He built a respected business where he enjoyed his diverse clientele. When he retired in 1987, Adam spent winters in Hawaii, Israel, and Palm Springs and summers tending to his beloved cottage where the whole family gathered. There his love of nature and family was evident in his joy of gardening, building tree houses and bird feeders for his grandchildren, and at his Sunday BBQs. Our deepest gratitude is extended to his physicians, companions, the nursing and health care staff at Simkin Centre who treated him with the utmost dignity and respect, particularly in his final weeks and who could not have shown more compassion to our family. Funeral services were held at Etz Chayim Synagogue on February 5, 2012. Those wishing to honour Adam's memory can make donations to the "Barbara & Adam Goszer Holocaust Education Centre Fund" at the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba or to The Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
