WILLIAM FORBES It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bill Forbes on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the age of 91. Bill is survived by his son Les (Penny), daughter Arlene (Henly) and his grandchildren Richard, Roberta, Sydny and Evrett. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he truly loved. Bill was born June 27, 1920 and lived in Gypsumville through his youth. At the outbreak of the Second World War, he enlisted in the Air Force and served in North Africa as an Aircraft Mechanic. After the war he moved to Winnipeg and joined McDonald Brothers which later became Bristol Aerospace. He met his future wife Denise and they married on June 22, 1951. He loved the outdoors and looked forward to weekend and holiday camping trips during the summer months. His favourite spot over the years was Falcon Lake. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, boating and golfing with family and friends. After retiring from Bristol Aerospace in 1988, Bill and Denise spent time enjoying their grandchildren, golfing, and loved venturing across the border on many casino trips until her passing in 2000. The family appreciates the help and most caring support from all the nursing staff at the Charleswood Care Centre. Thank you all very sincerely. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with viewing prior to the service. The pallbearers will be Richard Forbes, Evrett Pheifer, Brian, Larry and Glen Marmonier and Doug Cook. Interment will take place in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Cancer Society.
