GEORGE PETER PAQUETTE George passed away on March 14, 2012 at the age of 92 in Lions Gate Hospice. He grew up on a farm near Vegerville, AB and would always admire the police when he went into town. When he was old enough he realized his dream and joined the R.C.M.P. He served with distinction for 35 years in six provinces and retired at the rank of Assistant Commissioner. After retiring he became active in Rotary and did various charitable work. He was also able to indulge in his passion for golf along with friendly poker and bridge games up until only a few months ago. He married Joan (nee Tassie) in 1954 in Winnipeg and they raised five children; Anne, who predeceased him in 2009, Michelle, Susan, Linda and Paul. They also have three grandchildren; Emma, Eliza and Rodney. The family wishes to thank Dr. Edmunds, Dr. Shaw, Dr. Klimo, and Dr. Shahroki for all of their care. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Lions Gate Hospital at all levels. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation. Service to be held at Holy Trinity Church, 2725 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver on Friday, March 23 at 11:00.
