Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANE GAIL IRVINE October 20, 1944 - March 17, 2012 As the sun rose on St. Patrick's Day so did the spirit of our beloved Jane Gail. Her loving niece Megan Ludlow and brother Ronald were by her side as she peacefully went to join her ancestors. Jane Gail was born and raised in Winnipeg and made her final home in Toronto. She is survived by her siblings, Joyce Myrden, Bruce Irvine, Aline Ludlow, Ronald Irvine and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Gail made many long time friends worldwide who will cherish their friendship and special memories of her. She had a long and accomplished career in Project Management providing leadership and inspiring loyalty from her colleagues. Her working career included Wonderland, Expo 86 (British Columbia), Harbourfront Centre, North York City Hall, Law Society of Upper Canada and various Ontario government agencies. Gail was an active member of numerous associations and contributed countless hours to them. Inevitably colleagues became friends. In lieu of a service Gail requested instead that a party be held. In celebration of her life a come and go tea will be held on April 14, 2012 at 77 University Crescent, Winnipeg from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please join us in sharing your memories and honouring a life well lived. In memory of Jane Gail, donations may be made to St. Michael's Hospital, 30 Bond St., Toronto, ON M5B 1W8, in great appreciation of their care, or Christ Church Deer Park - Jazz Vespers, 1570 Yonge St., Toronto, ON M4T 1Z8 for the many years of joy and fellowship. My partner Keith and I met Gail at a business meeting and shortly afterwards we designed her logo, stationery and website. But after the business, the friendship continued. We just liked each other too much to go our separate ways and, besides, she was a fellow artist and cat lover - that put her way up there in our esteem. She and I exchanged emails about cats and other funny things that kept us delighted. I miss that connection; it hardly feels the same sending anything out. How lucky she was to have friends right to the end. But then, that's not luck, that's Gail. - Posted by: Helen Walter (friend and business associate) on: Apr 21, 2012

I met Gail when we both studied Interior Design at U of M in 1964. She was always upbeat and happy. I just learned of her passing today (via Facebook) and am shocked and saddened. She was an original free spirit. My condolences to her family. - Posted by: Doreen Wenham (Friend) on: Apr 15, 2012

I met Gail when we were both in the UI Self-Employment Program in Toronto. Over the years we had tea now and then, sharing mutual support and many laughs. Gail always saw the cheery side of things. I'm glad we were in touch in her last weeks - which I did not at the time realize were her last weeks, but looking back I can see that she was ill for a long time, and more ill than her doctor realized. Such a lovely person, and so missed. - Posted by: Kate Chung (friend) on: Apr 12, 2012

Gail was my mentor and savior while I was struggling through my teen and young adult years. She taught me to take life by the horns and at least try to follow my dreams. My only regret is the loss of contact in these last few years after I moved to Texas. I add my thanks to those people in Toronto who helped her through these past weeks. The greatest gift any one could have are friends like you! I am grateful I was able to talk to her before she transitioned on into her next great adventure. - Posted by: Kathleen Ludlow (Neice) on: Mar 25, 2012

I first met Gail at Canada's Wonderland, met up again at Expo 86. So very sad at Gail's passing. Gail was a kind and gentle person and lots of fun to be with. RIP Gail. - Posted by: Nora Reaney (Friend) on: Mar 24, 2012

The Family of Gail also wishes to express our most sincere thank you to Gail's wonderful friends Jutta Maloney (originally from Winnipeg) and May Sim (Toronto) for their tireless dedication to Gail especially in her final months - they were absolute TRUE friends until the very end. Also we wish to thank Els Coopman (Toronto) as well as she too went above and beyond as a friend. We found comfort in knowing even though her family was not there through a good portion of her struggle; her friends were taking good care of her! THANK YOU! - Posted by: Megan Ludlow (Neice) on: Mar 24, 2012
