Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORETTE MARIE IVES Peacefully on March 28 2012 Lorette Marie Ives passed away. Comforted by the presence of her niece she completed her journey of life. She was predeceased by her husband Gilbert, parents Eva and Jules Delrue and sister Lorraine. She is survived by her niece and caregiver Barb Lutz and family, sisters-in-law: Florence Ives and family, Pat Larence and Paul, also her many nieces and nephews and their families with whom Lorette enjoyed visiting and exchanging cards and letters with. She may not have been a mother herself but she always was interested in what the families were up to and their lives. Aunty Lorette was always a thoughtful, kind, and generous aunt to all. Lorette was born May 27 1926. She and Gilbert married in 1947 and lived in the Brooklands area for many years. Later they moved to the Bluebird Lodge and then in 2002 Lorette settled into Arlington Haus. She resided there for 10 years and enjoyed many wonderful friendships with both the residents and staff on the 4th floor. Her life revolved around the goings on at Arlington Haus and she enjoyed bingo, crafts, movies and helping the staff in the dinning room prepare the tables for meals. She always had a story to tell us about one of the ladies or one of the staff and their families. She loved to hear all about what they were up to. We as her family are forever grateful for the happy and secure home Lorette had there. We knew she was in good hands and didn't have to worry about her. Lorette has always had a remarkable memory and sharp mind. She may have been a tiny lady but she had a wonderful smile and loved to talk with people and remembered most of everything they told her. She never forgot a name, birthday, anniversary or age of anyone she knew. We always enjoyed our visits with her and our children always had Aunty Lorette in their lives. Come Halloween we always took the kids by Bluebird Lodge so Lorette could see the costumes and show off the kids. She loved to celebrate Birthdays and Christmas with us and we loved to have her there to celebrate those special times. As per her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Celebrate her Life by remembering her on her Birthday, she never forgot ours. You've always been a special aunt As special as can be More than that you've been a friend A cherished friend to me
