RAYMOND ERNEST SMITH October 28, 1929 - March 31, 2012 Ray passed away March 31st at his residence in Victoria. He is remembered with love by Flo, his wife of 59 years, son Eric (Louise), daughter Linda Boyechko (Ed Johnston), granddaughter Christine (Dallas) Alexander, and precious great-grandchildren Cody and Hailey. Ray will also be greatly missed by his brother Gordon of Vancouver. After a lifelong career with MTS, Ray and Flo retired to Victoria. Over the years they enjoyed travel and especially the joys of the open road with a trailer in tow! Ray was happiest on the hiking trail and family visits to Victoria always included at least one of his favourites - Swan Lake, Sooke Potholes, East Sooke, Goldstream, Mount Jocelyn....or at least a bit of the Galloping Goose in Victoria. Immediate cremation has taken place and there will be no service at his request. His memory would be honoured by donations to the Trans Canada Trail. The family would like to thank Sgt. Ron Stewart of the Saanich Police Department and Dr. Ticki McKenzie for their kindness and professionalism during this difficult time.
