Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRONALD PETER MILLER October 30, 1937 - April 6, 2012 It is with great sadness we announce that Ron passed away in the comfort of his own home after a lengthy illness. He will be missed terribly by his wife Gloria, their three children Shelley, Kevin (Linda), Mandy (Peter), seven grandchildren and their partners and three great-grandchildren. Ron is survived by his brother Rick (Linda) and family. Predeceased by his father Peter, mother Gladys and his brother Glenn. Ron was born and raised in the north end of Winnipeg, MB. He had a passion for football and was approached as a very young man to try out for the Saskatchewan RoughRiders. He instead pursued a career as an aircraft mechanic working for both Standard Aero Engine and Western Aero Engine becoming so respected he was internationally known and called upon for advice. He changed careers in the late 1960s and operated a local Texaco station then worked for Athey's as an automotive mechanic. In 1974 Ron and his family relocated to Victoria, BC where he continued in the automotive industry and owned the first Minit-Tune located on Douglas St. After continuing as a small business owner, Ron finally retired in the year 2000. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the Western Community Health Care Nurses, a special thanks to (Shelly), Victoria Hospice - especially Dr. Braithwaite, Jamie, Misha and Coby, Dr. Wm. Shoichet and Nicole, and Chris and all the staff at Millstream Pharmasave. As per Ron's wishes, there will be no service. In his memory if you wish, donations may be made to the Victoria Hospice Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Red Cross and /or the BCSPCA.
