MARCEL FREIS On Monday, May 7, 2012 Marcel's Funeral Service was held at 10:30 a.m. in Rowandale Baptist Church, 162 Rowandale Avenue, with Pastor Mark Woods, presider. Interment followed in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue.

MARCEL FREIS July 30, 1956 - April 29, 2012 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather. Surrounded by his family, Marcel passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital. Left to cherish Marcel's memory are his mother Christel Freis; brothers and sister, Rene (Julie) Diana, Jules (Laurel) Pierre; children, Chris (Tiffany) Jason (Holly) Rachael (her mother Petra); four grandchildren, Lucas, Phoenix, Miley and Brody; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father Jules Freis Sr. On Monday, May 7, 2012, Marcel's Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in Rowandale Baptist Church, 162 Rowandale Avenue, with Pastor Mark Woods, presider. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marcel's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.

Marcel and I were buddies, I helped him move about 12 times and used to drive around Winnipeg in his Dodge Polara with the dash magnets lined up just perfectly. He was in the used oil pick-up business and knew his truck and his job inside out...a blue collar perfectionist. Good guy, lots of fun and gone far too soon. My deepest sympathy on the loss of your son Marcel, Christel, and a brother to Rene, Diane, Jules and Pierre, and to the rest of the family my deepest condolences. I new Marcel and Rene when they were two little brave boys and they would walk down the road where I would wait for them with the school bus at the end of the road every day of the week and drive them to school, until they moved away.
