Condolences & Memories (25 entries)

  • Garth, you and I spent some "quality time" together in a very "secure" place.. We became quite close, and some of my fondest memories and tales involve you, myself and Paul. It amazes me even today, how we could make the worst situations of our lives, into some of the greatest tales told today! I deeply regret not staying in touch. I always have and always will remember you in my heart. I will never forget you and our adventures my friend. May you rest in peace you cantankerous bastard, Adam Donohoe. - Posted by: Adam Donohoe (Friend) on: Mar 12, 2014

  • Garth gave me a chance to visit Ireland as a young boxer, he treated me with kindness and gave me life experiences that I would have never have had here in Dublin. My best Pal Rigsy met his wife because of his visit to meet Garth and I too met my wife 9 years ago when doing a pub crawl with Garth. I have some great memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Sorry for not having that drink with you the day after, last year but my head was messed. Cheers for everything love DJ - Posted by: DJ Kirwan (Very Good Friend from Dublin Ireland) on: Jun 04, 2012

  • To Barb, Bruce and families. Just want you to know I am thinking of you all at this time of loss and wishing you peace. - Posted by: Kerry Strom (friend) on: May 24, 2012

  • Garth could tell stories of things that happened so many years ago and I enjoyed re-living "most" of the memories. He also came up with some good ones to get himself out of situations! I sometimes think that he never left the 60's. He certainly loved all the tunes of that era. Garth's life was full of so many people. He always had time to talk and listen to them. His life was full and he lived it the way he wanted. It is quite a marker in my life and I will always remember him. He will be a part of Eric and I forever. - Posted by: Virginia Derksen (Friend) on: May 23, 2012

  • A memory of an interesting guy from my high school days when he was dating a gal in my class. He was known as a cool guy back then who likely knew less of me than him, but there was always a form of admiration that I felt about him. Obviously from other comments he touched others similarly. I knew Bruce & Barb a bit better who I also recall as great people. I suspect the large loss they will be feeling from the passing of their "big brother". Sincere best wishes to them and the rest of the family. Carry on with memories of the good times. - Posted by: Bob Beavis (Acquaintance) on: May 23, 2012

  • I remember many great times with Garth while in high school. He was one of our "heros" and was always in for skipping school and going to the bowling alley. My condolences to the family and friends who will miss him greatly. - Posted by: Judy Thorpe Simmons (friend) on: May 23, 2012

  • Sometimes when you least expect it somebody crosses your path who leaves a lasting impression. Garth was one of those rare people. The kind of man who would always have your back. And what a storyteller! Lived the life of a thousand men... Condolences to his family, the ones who were there for him in the past few months and really, anyone who was lucky enough to have crossed his path. - Posted by: A Friend () on: May 20, 2012

  • Garth was the person who could tell a story or make someone laugh from down deep. There are so many stories and memories of Garth from the many dinners and parties he hosted to family times we spent together.
