MAX CHISICK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, Max Chisick on May 24, 2012. He was with his closest family at the time. Max was born in Winnipeg on December 3, 1921 and married his beloved Tamara Gordon on June 21, 1942. He joined the RCAF as an officer and became a navigator for Lancaster bombers. His plane was shot down over Germany and he ended the war in a Luftwaffe POW Camp. The hero returned to Winnipeg to commence his life with his loving wife. They had three sons, Hartley, Clifford and Mark and had a very very happy successful 56 year marriage. Max was very active in his professional life in the metal recycling industry. He and Tamara loved to travel and saw many parts of the planet in their travels. In addition to travel they so much loved each other's company that they were just as happy to sit in their den and watch golf or read the newspapers together. Max was blessed with six grandchildren: Becky, Casey, Josh, Daniel, Adam and Samantha and his beloved great grand daughter, Lily. Max was predeceased by his wife Tamara in 1998 and by his brothers Joe and Charlie, brothers-in-law Mark and Harold, and then his baby sister Celia. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, his nieces, nephews and their respective families. He will be greatly missed by Mark, Haderra, Adam, Michelle, Samantha, Noah, Hartley, Betty, Becky and Lily. The family would like to give a special thank you to Juanita Bunyi and Claire Prieto and the entire staff at Weinberg 3 for the excellent care they gave Max. Funeral services were held on May 25, 2012 at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. Pallbearers were family friend Harold Silverman and grandchildren Becky Chisick, Adam Chisick, Michelle Chisick, Samantha Chisick and Noah Globerman. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Museum of Human Rights will be greatly appreciated.
