Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Donna .....my mum will always be remembered by her care and kindness towards others. Always putting others before herself. Growing up she always kept me busy doing sports and activities to develop my social and physical skills. Always sacrificing her time to drive me and my sister to our activities. Her life revolved around ours and what would be best for us. I lived with my mum for 7 years without my dad and sister as she moved out. I was a late bloomer or.....just didn't want to pay expensive rent. :). She charged me 200 a month in which I probably ate that in food in two weeks. Lol. She always taught me about saving money and financial success. Not buying the toys all my friends had. I am that much better off now a days. She always accepted me even when I made fairly large mistakes.....can't comment. ;) During that 7 years we became closer. Her realizing I was old enough to make my own decisions. The role modelling had disappeared and we became more good friends. She always had lots to talk about and liked to interact with me. We always joked around and had a good laugh. She was fun to talk to. Although I was always somewhat mindful on my comments and my warped sense of humour....She was the most unselfish woman ever. Volunteering after retiring. Also teaching voluntarily elderly people computer skills right up to a month before she passed away. This is my second Christmas without her. I still remember her voice and her laugh. All the adopted names she gave me like "DC' and "Joe". :) Always remember that. She was a great woman for me and everyone she met. Genuine and helpful. Somewhat stubborn at times but maybe because she had her own opinion what was best for me or anyone else. Me, Nanaimo, and everyone she met will miss a very kind lady. So beautiful inside. I will miss her always and will always be on my mind. Although I wish you were here with me mum I hated to see such a beautiful person suffer like you did in the end. I still remember the last look into your eyes. .... I love you mum. Xoxo. Merry Christmas. I miss you very much. :( Always in my heart and mind mum. <3 - Posted by: Darren Fuller (Son) on: Dec 19, 2013

  • Donna was such a lovely and kind lady, but let us never forget her wonderful sense of humour! I thoroughly enjoyed working with her at CIBC in Country Club Mall, Nanaimo, BC during the 1980s and 1990s and going on "adventures" with her and the "girls" to Vancouver and Victoria. Additionally, I always looked forward to going out to lunch with her and our CIBC friends whenever I visited Nanaimo. I will always think of her laughter - and the many lessons on life she taught me - and want her family to know that she will always be remembered with great fondness.
