LOUISE JUANITA (NITA) JOAN ROUGEAU (nee ECKERT) Peacefully, at her residence, after a courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep regret that we announce the death of Nita on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at the age of 82 years. Nita is survived by her husband Paul, of 60 years of marriage; sons David from Montreal, Robert (Mariette) and Daryl (Irene); sister Emma Eckert of Winnipeg; brother Garfield (Marjorie) of Edmonton; granddaughter Dayle Rougeau of Montreal; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Karoline Eckert; brothers William and Harold, and by her sister Beatrice McVey. On Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Juanita's Funeral Service will be held in St. James Lutheran Church, 871 Cavalier Drive. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Special thanks to CancerCare Manitoba, Riverview Palliative Care Ward and Palliative Home Care, especially Jay for her compassionate care and support during Nita's final days. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, in Nita's memory would be greatly appreciated.
