Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVA (VIVI) KITTNER (née NURNBERG) Peacefully, Vivi died on May 29, 2012, at Seven Oaks General Hospital in Winnipeg, in her 86th year. Vivi was born July 12, 1926 in Bucharest, Romania, where she attended private school and studied accounting in college. She spoke and wrote six languages. In 1943, she met Kalman (Sergiu) Kittner, the love of her life. They married January 27, 1946 at Temple Coral in Bucharest. In 1961, they moved to Haifa, Israel, where Vivi was employed by the Bank of Israel. Vivi's dream came true in 1963 when she and Serge immigrated to Winnipeg and reunited with family. In 1963, Vivi began a 27-year career with Montreal Trust. From 1978 until retirement in 1990, she was securities/vault supervisor. She was a long-time member of Na'amat Winnipeg and Jewish Child and Family Services. Vivi loved her family, gardening, shopping, and reading. She was bright, capable, and strong-willed. She and Serge enjoyed travelling to Abano Spa in Italy, the Orient, Europe, and Israel. When Serge died November 18, 2008 after 62 years of marriage, Vivi grieved deeply for the rest of her life. She was also predeceased by her parents, Ana and David, and brothers-in-law Misu (1991) and Fred (1996). Vivi is survived by her sister, Miriam Oberman, sisters-in-law Sarlota and Sylvia Kittner, nieces Adina (Doron) and Simona (Shay), and nephews Bradley and Mark. We are grateful to all who assisted and offered condolences. We especially acknowledge with heartfelt gratitude the years of friendship and service provided by Adriana Costa. The funeral was held June 1, 2012, at Congregation Etz Chayim, followed by interment next to Serge in Bnay Abraham Cemetery.
