I was very lucky in that Denise shared her joy of life by living with us while I was in my childhood. I will always remember her laugh, joyfulness, and zeal for life. May peace be with you, and prayers to your family - Posted by: Del Bodnarek (cousin) on: Jun 24, 2012

To my dear sister, Gisele, Bob, Sonnie, Claude, Jerome, Nina, Roseanne, and Melanie. We send our love and prayers. You know we share your heartbreak. We had the honor and privilege of being there for Denice as she confronted struggles of life growing up. In the end she faced her greatest struggle with unbelievable strength, sharing stories, jokes, and always smiling. I feel like she was teaching us that our transition to new life can be dignified and peaceful. Even through her obvious pain and, most likely, fear, she put on a brave face and a smile. We have all lost a huge ray of sunshine. May the angels gently rock our Denice. We will love her forever. Please be assured that all of you did everything you could for Denice, as she attempted to protect you in the end. I had the honour and privilege of working with Denice at the Commissionaires, until my retirement in December of 2011. I am very sorry to hear of her passing. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, as she was a friendly, funny and genuine person. It was very common for people who encountered Denice in her workplace to call her supervisor (me) with compliments about her, how well she did her job and how at ease she made them feel. May their memories of Denice comfort her family and friends at this most difficult time. God bless. - Posted by: Wayne Boesch (Co-Worker, Commissionaires, Manitoba.) on: Jun 24, 2012

My sister Denice always called herself the "responsible one" of the brothers and sisters and had a open door for all of us to enter if needed. She had a great sense of humor and a unique way at looking at life. I was fortunate to be able to spend time with Denice as she went through her fight with cancer and in typical Denice fashion she handled her fight with determination and dignity - she was one not to complain or express fear. In the last days her eyes said that she was in pain and seemingly scared of what might come next, but not once through her lips did a complain come. Even till the end she was the "responsible one" as she did not want me to worry. We held hands and had a very quiet talk and she passed away a few minutes later after sharing a smile saying that everything is ok - not to worry I am comfortable - Denice you will miss more than you know. I will miss your phone calls and great conversations. We will see each other again - please say hi to dad xoxoxoxoxo love you lots Rosanne and Family - Posted by: Rosanne (sister) on: Jun 22, 2012

May God hold you tenderly in his arms Denice, and may He comfort your family knowing that you are now no longer suffering. You are a special angel watching over your loving family now. Memories of Denice still make me smile. She was always so fun to be around. Full of joy and happiness and even a bit of mischief. A beautiful woman inside and out. She will be missed greatly, and remembered always. - Posted by: Claudia Kaspar (Cousin) on: Jun 20, 2012

It was my pleasure to know Denice all of my life. Even near death she always had a smile on her face. She let me move in with her in my young adult life in Winnipeg. She took care of me, fed and watered me along with other members of our family. I will miss so much writing to you and hearing your voice. This is my last letter to you. For me it will never be good bye, but I will see you soon. My wife, Sherry. Your niece, Shylough. Your nephews, David and Jesse embrace the angel you are. I ask that you continue looking after us in your new way. With love and gratitude Claude - Posted by: Claude Boulet (Brother) on: Jun 20, 2012

This is an excerpt from a letter of reference I wrote to help Denice get her last job. I think it just touches the feelings we shared. It has been my pleasure to have known Denise for about 20 years now. In that time, we have worked together as a management retail team for 13 yrs and have remained in touch as friends and confidants. Professionally, I can say that her work ethic is solid and her reliability unmatched in my 26 yrs of retail management. I can vouch for her integrity and honesty with no hesitation or reserve. She has that strange gift of knowing the personality of a stranger by appearance almost instantly. More telling is her abilty to recall all the birthdays and details of all her friends and aqcuaintances lives. This reflects Denise’s selflessness and caring nature. In closing, I can say that Denise will always achieve objectives given to her despite obstacles that would stop most in their tracks. I’ve seen it. - Posted by: mike vidal (colleague) on: Jun 18, 2012
