CECIL LUTMAN Cecil Lutman, 94, formerly of Charleswood, died peacefully on May 2, 2012, with his daughter by his side, in Glengarry District Hospital, Alexandria, Ontario. Dad was predeceased by our mother, Mary, in 1983. He was the dear father of Kathleen Sill (Winston Bacon) and Howard Lutman (Judi), the loved grandfather of Tara Kurczewski (Bobby), Kathleen Paulin, Karen Sill and Amanda Buhse (Ryan) and the very proud great-grandfather of Zachary and Logan. Dad was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1918 and immigrated to Winnipeg from England in 1955; bringing his young family over to join him in 1958. He was employed by Marshall Wells for 28 years, retiring in 1983. Cec was an avid curler, bowler, golfer, and enjoyed boating and fishing. In 1957 he joined the Frontier Wildlife Association, becoming an honorary lifetime member in 1983. Dad loved the outdoors and particularly enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends at the Frontier fishing and hunting lodges. Going to the shack in Erickson to hunt with his buddies became a favourite autumn tradition. Cec especially looked forward to Sunday tee-times at Tuxedo with his close foursome. In 1988, Dad moved to Winchester, Ontario to live with Kathy and her daughters, where he enjoyed country living and playing the local golf course. He spent his days in the garden and working on the house. He was happy just to sit outside and enjoy the view. He always had a smile for everyone and never lost his sense of humour. Cremation has taken place. The funeral will be held on June 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. Dad, Grandpa, you will be sadly missed and always loved.
