My dad was a well known linesman on the west coast, everywhere I go in my work travels, everyone who I ever met said he was a great guy, and always ready to help anyone. I have met many over the years who have confirmed to me the same. To me I understand his life more today, it was a very difficult early life, filled with shame of being illegitimate and native as well. Once I contemplated at his hometown, what it must have been like for him growing up. It brought tears to my eyes. My dad found it hard to relate his feelings but he left me with a gift. He told me he loved me and my sisters, and he was very proud we turned out so well in spite of all that happened in our family life. My dad had a disease which took him away from reality and the present, but he was always smiling and still a really nice guy the nurses all loved him too. I cried my heart out when I heard he died. He is now at peace and with the creator. And I am at peace knowing that. I love you dad and there is no end to that. - Posted by: Richard (son) on: Jun 23, 2012
