EDWARD (ED) PRESCOTT Edward (Ed) Prescott passed away June 11, 2012 at the age of 83. Ed was born Louis Joseph Edouard Prescott on July 18, 1928 in St. Boniface, MB. He had one sister, May Boissonnault. Ed sang in the St. Boniface Cathedral Choir, and even recorded a 78 with them. Ed rode a 1945 Harley Davidson motorcycle and loved camping, canoeing, and trains. The train that ran from Winnipeg to Grand Beach, MB is where he met his wife, Edith Calvert. They were married on July 19, 1952. Ed worked for Otis Elevators, and was stationed in many areas of Manitoba and Northern Ontario. His family developed a love of camping, joining him for the summer months at some of his locations. Many fondly remembered camping trips were taken out to BC to visit his mother-in-law, Nell Ruf, and her family in Kelowna. Ed also worked for Xerox Canada. He volunteered with the Junior Achievement Program, helping young adults develop their entrepreneurial skills. Sadly, Ed suffered from dementia in the later years of his life. Ed is survived by his children: Gary of Victoria, BC, Nancee of Toronto, ON, and Christopher (Donna) Prescott of Winnipeg, MB; his grandson Devyn Walker, brother-in-law Dennis Calvert (Georgina), nephew Chris Calvert (Jacquie), niece Coryn Calvert, cousin-in-law Judy Oliver, and her sons Dale (Stephanie) and Jason (Helen) Oliver. Edward is predeceased by his wife, Edith Doreen Prescott, and his friend and cousin-in-law by marriage, Dave Oliver. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of both the Charleswood Nursing Home and the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg for their care of our father. As per Ed's wishes, no services have been planned, other than the immediate family's gathering to celebrate his life and mourn his death. To remember Ed, take a train trip anywhere and take a picture to remember your journey. Of course you don't die. Nobody dies. Death doesn't exist.
