As a young and very raw designer of 21, Tom took me under his wing and taught me everything I know about design and advertising. My child bride, Margaret and I felt very much part of the McKim advertising team and as immigrants from Scotland, Marie & Tom "adopted us" as part of their family. I'll never forget Tom's patience and kindness and he was a major influence on any success I've had in business. My sincere apologies to Marie, Scott, Nadine and family. I only wish I could have had one more memorable (and hilarious) moment with Tom. I will really miss him. - Posted by: Nick Maguire (Friend and colleague) on: Jul 31, 2012

I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I enjoyed every moment working with him in the days when Nick Maguire and I decided we would be the #1 team to usurm Tom and Shirley's position. Tom always had a excellent sense of humour and I often reflected on those days and in the days we worked together via his own studio. To Marie (a wonderful half to a great marriage partnership) Scott and Nadine I offer my most sincere condolences and am sorry I could not have been there with you to bid a very fond farewell to an individual I held in extremely high esteem. Dear Marie, Nadine, Scotty, Kevin and kids, so sorry to hear of Tom's passing..so many wonderful memories, always of Tom smiling and laughing especially during the Laurelwood Days. How he will be missed! Growing up I thought he was one of the most honorable men out of my parents circle of friends..he always stayed true to himself over the years as he became more and more successful. Wishing you much love at this difficult time....Rick & Diane Semper, Julia, Katlyn & Megan - Posted by: Rick and Diane Semper (Friends) on: Jul 13, 2012
