Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYVONNE VIOLET (VI) BURWELL Yvonne Violet (Vi) Burwell (neé Laviolette) passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the age of 77. Vi is survived by her partner, Gorden Perry, her two sons Leonard and Edward, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brother Frank Laviolette (Lillian) and many nieces and nephews. Vi worked in the retail grocery industry, first in Winnipeg and then in Vancouver, for more than forty years, retiring from Safeway in 1998. She loved dancing, crocheting afghans, and entertaining family and friends with home-cooked meals. Cremation has taken place and a private family remembrance will be arranged at a later date. The family extends its gratitude to the staff at the Overlander Extended Care Hospital in Kamloops where Vi resided for the past several years. The family is especially grateful to Gorden Perry and his family for their kindness and the care they gave to Vi during the course of her illness.
