ALMA FOLSON The family of Alma Folson (nee Cluff) are grateful for the long life of their mother, who died July 11, 2012 just three months after her 100th birthday celebration. She was a wonderful mom, caring and supportive, with a no-nonsense, common sense approach to everything. We admired her resilience, her resourcefulness, and her quiet strength. In conversation she was funny, feisty, wise, encouraging and kind. Her home, built with our Dad, Clarence, was her haven; she lived there for over seventy years. Mom was predeceased by her parents, James and Jane Cluff, her husband, Clarence (1973), her brother Alf, sisters Olive, Ethel, Florence and Ruby, and nephew Jim. She leaves her son, Henry (Monika), daughters Eileen and Marilyn (Bob, Lindsay and David), granddaughters Angie (Chris) and Sylvie (Tim), great-grandson Nicholas and nephews Burnett, Leon and Bobby. Mom has requested a private family service. No flowers, please. Special thanks to the staff of floors 4 (Geriatric Rehab) and 5 (Medicine) at St. Boniface Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I was educated at Grant Park High School from grade 7 through 12. I registered myself for the Integrated Special Education Program (I.S.E.P.) before transferring to the Interprivincial Program for Students with Autism (I.P.S.A.). I remember Ms. Folson very well. We had very nice conversations before the commencement of morning lectures and during lunch hours. - Posted by: Philip (Former student) on: Jan 04, 2022

  • Alma's obituary truly reflects the wonderful person that she was. The photo is lovely. Imagine living to be 100 years plus and doing it so well! She will indeed be missed. Phyllis Alfeld - Posted by: Phyllis Alfeld (Friend) on: Jul 16, 2012

  • So sorry to hear of Alma's passing, but grateful to have been able to see her on her 100th birthday. I will think of her every time our shared birthday comes around. I appreciate all the support she gave my Mom, and all the support she and her family have given me over the years. She will be missed. - Posted by: Sandra and Dennis Jewell (Second Cousin and Husband) on: Jul 15, 2012
