Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAMENA FRANCES DAVEY 1916 - 2012 Every life has a story and every story has a beginning: Frances' story began in Winnipeg on January 18, 1916. She was the second daughter born to Jeanne and William Birnie. Jean Leslie, her only sibling, predeceased Frances in 1988. A middle: In 1947 Frances married Reginald Davey after his return from the Second World War. Their first son Fredrick (Abbotsford, BC) was born in 1948 and their second son Robert (Winnipeg), was born in 1949. In 1989, Frances' only grandchild Jarrod was born to Fred and his wife Donna. Frances lived a full life. She remained fiercely independent even at the age of 96. She will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness. She was a good friend, a devoted mother and grandmother to Fred, Bob, and Jarrod and a loving aunt to her niece Roberta Leslie and to her two great nieces, Meaghan and Rebecca. And an ending: Frances passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital on July 1, 2012. Her passing marks the end of an era for our family. She has always been there for us, no matter what. We knew we could always count on her. She will be very much missed by her family and friends. In keeping with Frances' wishes cremation has taken place and a private graveside service for the interment of her ashes will take place at Chapel Lawn on August 16. Frances, may you rest in peace.

My husband Rick and I used to be caretakers across the street (550 Corydon) from Reg and Frances. We moved to the Kleefeld area in 1986, but every now and then I would call her and have a nice chat. I hadn't realized how long it had been since I had called her, and last week I did, only to get a disconnect recording. I'm sorry for your loss, and it's a bit late, but I will miss her. She was a wonderful, hard-working lady. May she rest in peace. Karen Friesen - Posted by: Karen Friesen (Past neighbour) on: Sep 02, 2016
