He will be lovingly missed by his longtime friend, wife Bev and his best buddy's sons Ryan and Kevin. His sisters, Barbara (Wilf) Clarke and Linda Robinson. Brother-in-law Bill Lawrynuik and sister-in-law Linda Stewart. His special nieces and nephews - Sharon, Lori and Alan Lawrynuik, Val and Brad Neirinick, Cheryl Stewart, Lance and Lisa Ludwig, Dean Robinson, Lanette and Stino Siragusa, Kim and Brent Chaisson and Kenny Clarke. Along with his childhood and lifelong friend Ervin (Cheryl) Kaziw and his many, many friends. He will be missed greatly. Special thanks to close cousin, Aubrey Hemminger for all his spiritual help. Bruce was predeceased by his Mom and Dad, Mildred and Douglas Stewart, his brother Gordon Stewart, his sister Joan Lawrynuik, his brother-in-law Craig Robinson and mother-in-law Florence Schmidt. Bruce worked as a truck driver at the Canadian Pacific Railway for over 30 years. He sure could entertain with his trucking stories - they sure put a smile on everyone's face. Bruce just loved his dogs and referred to them as his grandkids - special buddy, Chase, his little girl, Twister, Kody who just received his Canadian Champion and was so looking forward to all the upcoming shows, along with Rosco, Bailey, and Rieley ATB. He worked nights and would always say he would ask Chase, Twister and Kody to say a prayer to help him get a tight fitting trailer in and it always worked. Bruce would always say God sure looked after me last night at work. The last couple of weeks Bruce seemed so happy and content. Bruce and Bev just celebrated 38 years together. We went out to the Forks that night and he kept telling us that was the best anniversary he had. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 2 at 1:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2528 King Edward Street. Flowers can be sent to the church on Thursday morning before 12:00 noon. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 BROADWAY, WINNIPEG, MB R3C OX4 204-783-7211 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsonfuneralchapel.com

Hi Kevin, Really sorry to hear about your father. Although I didn't know him, I can see he was a special person you will miss for sure. Take care of yourself and know that the team here at Gillons is thinking about you and your family during this time of grief. Bruce was a kind hearted man who didn't have a mean bone in his body. He was truly entertaining by the way he could tell stories. Family get togethers will never be the same without him. My condolences to Bev, Ryan and Kevin. - Posted by: Bill Lawrynuik (Brother in-law) on: Jul 31, 2012

Bruce was my guardian and friend many times. He was always so generous with his time and heart. Bruce was always looking after me when we worked together on midnights. He was a patient man, always tried to have a positive spin on life and genuinely loved his family, dogs and people. He was my work Dad. He always assured me a safe ride to work, he was the first person to give me a gift when I finally got a car. He was very concerned that I had no car mats and that my interior would get damaged as the winter and salt approached. One night he came to work with the mats and would not accept any money for them, but did allow me to buy him a coffee. Another time it was a brutal winter night and my car had been sitting outside and was absolutely frozen. So Bruce in his usual kind way, took my car to the shop, removed his own vehicle out into the cold and let mine warm up for the rest of the night. Then promptly returned it to me in the morning, all nice and warm with a bit of a cleaning for me to drive home in. I have some more stories and I am sure all those who knew him do to. It truly saddens me to know that he is not out on the streets at night, watching out for people, and not walking this earth any longer. A true and genuine human being who loved so greatly. Good bye for now my friend, my role model, my midnight keeper. Love and respect Dallis Cp intermodal 1998-2004 - Posted by: Dallis Green (Co-Worker/Friend) on: Jul 31, 2012
