SONIA (KOSOWAN) DOUGLAS Born January 13, 1948 in Vita, Manitoba, lived in Oshawa, Ontario and passed peacefully at home July 29, 2012, at the age of 64. Sonia worked at Personal Attendant Care for 20 years and spent her life giving to those in her care. Beloved wife of Kenneth Douglas for 29 years. Dear and loving mother of Tammy Douglas, Tracey Douglas and Jackie Knox. Cherished grandmother of Ryan Kafka, Rachael Kafka and Cagney Knox. Survived by siblings Albert (Elsie) Kosowan, Olga Toews, Helen (Peter) Chubaty, John (Diane) Kosowan, Nestor Kosowan, Michael (Henrietta) Kosowan, Jarvis (Eila) Kosowan, Lawrence (Barbara) Kosowan and sister-in-law Elsie Kosowan. Predeceased by parents Nicholas and Verna Kosowan, by brothers Bill and Nick Kosowan and by sister Lucy Mitchell. Sonia will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She will also be sadly missed by her puppies Dakota and Nikita. Visitation will be held at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa, Ontario (905-433-4711) on Thursday August 2 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Prayers will be said at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church at 31 Bloor Street East Oshawa, Ontario on Friday, August 3 at 11:00 a.m. Following the service Sonia will be laid to rest at Bowmanville Cemetery at 130 Haines Street Bowmanville, Ontario.
