ELSIE DROUX (nee GERING) January 28, 1923 August 10, 2012 It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Elsie Droux on Friday, August 10, 2012. She will be fondly missed and always remembered by her son, Harry and wife, Elsima. Her brothers-in-law Joe (Doretta) of Ste. Anne, George (Anita) of Somerset, sister-in-law Cecile (Tom) of Elkhorn. Extended family Phyllis and her children Regan, Devin (Stephanie) their daughter Kiera, and Bill. Also by stepbrother-in-law Fred Miller and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Pete (August 7, 2009), her parents Philipp and Emilie, mother-in-law and father-in-law Irenee and Elisabeth. Also by a sister-in-law, Marie and stepsister Clara Miller. Mom loved her family and friends and would do everything she could to make them happy. She loved to do gardening, canning, cook, bake, and entertain. The pantry was always full and with such a variety ready to be used for all special occasions and gatherings. She loved all animals, cats, dogs, deer, prairie chickens, ducks, geese and all birds. If they were in her yard, she made sure they always had plenty of food and drink. Her passion was to crochet which she did right up until her passing. She has made many beautiful items but her specialties were bedspreads and tablecloths. Many friends and family members have received them as gifts and many were donated for raffles as fundraisers. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the United Church of Manitou at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the United Church of Manitou c/o Wanda Long Box 418 Manitou, MB R0G 1G0 or to the Pembina Valley Humane Society F-167 Grant St. Morden, MB R6M 1Y4.
