Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMA ROSENBERG June 28, 1925 - August 14, 2012 Norma Rosenberg passed away on August 14, 2012, at the St. Boniface Hospital. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Morrie, and her parents, Isadore and Eva Hurwits. She will be greatly missed by her children Steven and Susan Rosenberg, Jackie and Terry Smorang (Calgary) and her grandson, Aaron Rosenberg (Ottawa). She is also survived by her sister Annette Devon and family (Toronto), sister-in-law Anne Rosenberg and many close friends. Norma was born in Winnipeg and attended Laura Secord and Gordon Bell High School. In 1947, she married Morrie Rosenberg, the love of her life. A few years later they had twins, Jackie and Steven. There were many great memories and lasting friendships from the early years in the Marion Apts., the family's annual summer vacations to Gull Lake, MN, and the winters Norma and Morrie spent in Hawaii, until his passing in 1988. Norma was very independent and continued to travel on her own to Hawaii, as well as on trips with friends to Norway, Mexico, the Mediterranean and China. For her 80th birthday she took her family on a cruise to Alaska. Norma will be remembered for her unique style, her great sense of humour and her strength of character. She treasured her family and friends. She was young at heart and always ready for an adventure. She was flamboyant, gracious, determined and generous. As one friend noted, she wore colour and lived colourfully . A graveside funeral service was held Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Steven Rosenberg, Aaron Rosenberg, Terry Smorang, Josh Devon, Michael Devon and Doug Wege. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

NORMA ROSENBERG It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norma Rosenberg on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 16 at 3:00 p.m. at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery, Main and Armstrong. (Area 2, Section J, enter through Gate 3). Longer obituary to follow.

Norma will be dearly missed. She was one of a kind. We roomed together on our cruise to Norway, and a stayover in London on our return. You could always enjoy shopping, eating out, and her jokes. My Mother and Norma were dear friends. Norma's ability to handle life on life's terms always impressed my Mother. Her loyalty as a friend was uncontested. She was glamorous, brilliantly funny, and sweet to me all my life. Norma was a good childhood memory.
