Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKURT GARRETT GUSTAFSON January 28, 1987- August 27, 2012 It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Kurt Gustafson. He will lovingly be remembered by his cherished son Darson, parents Barb and Ken, brother Brett, grandparents Bill (Jean), Pat (Gene) and Mary and extended family. Kurt was currently enrolled at Red River College in Construction Management where in his first year he received an academic excellence award from the Winnipeg Construction Association. Kurt's favorite place was the family cottage at Falcon Lake where he worked alongside his Dad renovating the cottage, (he had the carpenter gene and a tireless work ethic), ran a business (Helping Hands Handyman), groundskeeper at the golf course and enjoyed what every season had to offer. He especially loved instilling a similar love for the lake in his son, Darson. Kurt played hockey for many years for the Vic's AA and Dakota CC and enjoyed playing rec hockey with many old friends. Kurt had a kind Heart. There is no greater loss or pain that one can endure than that of losing a child. There will be a private family memorial along with close friends to be held at the lake at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up for Darson Wood at Scotia Bank c/o Dakota and Ward branch and can be made at any Scotia bank. In Kurt's words: Have a peaceful day.

I just heard about Kurt, and want to offer my condolences to all of you. It was rare to see Kurt ever in a bad mood. He was fun-loving, funny, and always a good friend. I didn't see him a lot in the past few years, but that doesn't mean I'll ever forget the kid he was and the man he became. I'm very sorry for your loss and I wish you all the best going forward.
