Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCARLO LOMBARDINI In loving memory of Carlo Lombardini who passed away in Cagliari, Italy, on September 7, 2011, after a brave battle with cancer. He's now with his son Paolo, who died accidentally at age 26 in 1990 and is immensely missed. Carlo left behind his wife Adriana, his beloved daughter Silvia with her husband Andrea and the two grandchildren, Dario and Gabriele, who brought him much joy and love. He was born in Cagliari on September 13, 1930. He graduated in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Florence and worked in Sardinia as a manager for the Government. He travelled extensively, particularly in Africa, crossing the Sahara Desert eight times and enjoyed several safaris. Carlo emigrated to Winnipeg in 1976 with his family and their dog. He came to manage a farm then started his own business. He volunteered in the Italian community and was instrumental in the founding of the Caboto Center. He was also a lifelong blood donor. Aside from reading and classical music, he loved hunting and fishing with his son Paolo. He was also an avid tennis player and, of course, followed the games of his favorite soccer team, Cagliari. The family thanks the many good friends who have blessed his life. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., September 7, at Villa Cabrini, 433 River Avenue.
