We had the pleasure of knowing Jack for a short time, but in that time he proved to be a very caring, generous be it a very quiet man. Our deepest sympathy goes to you Leanne a friend, neighbor and confidant. And to your daughter Darlene. Jack will be missed by many, and not forgotten. Lots of Love, Toby, Misty-Rae, Shaun and Paul. Leanne, Darlene and Chad, We can't begin to have the words that would bring you enough comfort in your loss. We will always be there for you, and hope to be able to have a day at the docks in memory of Jack. Take care of each other, and cherish your memories. - Posted by: Tracy, Ron & Bob (friends) on: Sep 18, 2012

Leanne, my heart aches for you. There are no words that can ever comfort you but there are so many memories that you hold so dear. It will be these memories that will give you the comfort and strength to continue on. You will no doubt think you hear Jack moving about your home as after 33 years it is something that was a norm. A song, a smell, or someone's gesture will remind you of the loving man you lost. He will always be with you and would want you to be happy. We are thankful that Jack did not suffer and hope you too will not suffer. You will never be alone as Jack is with you, always. The depth and strength of your true love is so rare and precious. When you are down, just close your eyes and you will see the twinkle in Jack's eyes, the smile on his face and feel the warmth of his arms wrapped around you. He is with you forever, Leanne. - Posted by: Anonymous (Dear Friend) on: Sep 18, 2012

Leanne, Darlene and Chad our thoughts and love are with you every minute of every day. Our hearts, minds, bodies and souls feel deeply saddened by the loss of Jack who has been a true inspiration to our son Chad. For the short period of time we were blessed with knowing Jack we found he was truly a man, a man of integrity, a man of honor, a man of love and respect, and a man of forgiveness, who was a loving and caring husbnd, a devoted proud father, and the kind of man we all could only hope to have as the father-in-law to our son or daughter. Jack was truly one in seven billion and will be next to our hearts for all eternity. Love Sandy & Greg - Posted by: Greg & Sandy (In-laws) on: Sep 18, 2012

The Smith family has lost another great fellow and we will truly miss him. I will always remember our family get togethers, and the good times we had. So sorry that you didn't make it to the wedding this summer, but at least we had a chance to visit at the social on St. Patrick's day and it was so good to see you. Our love and prayers go out to you Leanne and Darlene. - Posted by: Donna Tarr (cousin) on: Sep 13, 2012

Sweetheart, I was truly blessed to know you for 38 years. I was so hopeful we would celebrate our 33rd anniversary Dec 29/12. It is so painful to look at your recliner & our bed. The plush husky dog that Darlene put against your arm in icu for strength is on your pillow. There are a lot of special people hurting that remember you as a special man. Our comfort is that you did not suffer. Your wedding band is on my necklace never to be taken off. You will be with me every minute of every day forever. You are never alone. A huge part of me died with you that day. I can't wait to be with you again. All my endless love & heartfelt gratitude, your wife Leanne - Posted by: Leanne Smith (wife) on: Sep 13, 2012

Daddy, I miss you so much already! We all thought you'd be around for so many more years. Chad & I are taking care of Mom the best we can but it's so hard for her without you. So many people love you and miss you terribly. We know you are in a happy place where you can do all the things you love & be with the rest of your friends & family that have been waiting for you. We'll all see you again eventually. Love always Darlene - Posted by: Darlene (daughter) on: Sep 12, 2012
